Remember the walks along the beach
Hand in hand digging our toes in the cold sand
Challenging the waves to touch our knees
Giving in to your bright eyes and natural smile.
Remember sleepless nights on a hospital couch
Waking every few minutes to the oxygen alarm
Praying our little Henrik would have the strength to live
Thanking God that he did.
Remember the green fields in eastern Oregon at spring
Driving around the farms and up the blue mountains
Talking, Dreaming, Laughing, Worrying
We had nothing but each other, a beat up car, and our love.
Remember all our family gathered in the February sun
Taking pictures in the shadow of the temple
Our hearts pounding in anticipation of our journey together, forever
The beginning of all that is right in my life.
Remember our first apartment
How we survived day to day must have been a miracle
Living in the heat, morning sickness, part time jobs, and spiders
The only way we made it through must have been the skittles.
Remember watching our first home being built
Leaving your parents every weekend to see what was new
And trying to envision how everything would look
Dreaming of giving our little family happiness in our home.
Remember visiting the Columbia river Gorge
Hiking to Multnomah Falls
Enjoying the sweet air at Crown Point in your arms
Hanging out and swimming at Punch Bowl Falls.
Remember when we lived happily ever after
Our family grew older and filled our lives with memories
Through the mistakes and hard times we worked harder to smile
Finding forgiveness we slept good, and let joy warm our home.
